And here’s the Fire Honey recipe that you requested and we talked about.

‘Fire’ honey

This makes a concentrated ‘fire’ honey that you keep and can be mixed with hot water whenever you need it. I have been drinking multiple cups of this a day since December. It tastes like sunshine and makes me feel alive. Vegans can use maple syrup instead. Drink it when you are cold, when you have a cold, when you need a lift, when you are feeling great. Drink it all the time, like me.

Makes 1 jar

200g of honey

The Zest from 1 orange or lemon, peeled in strips

A large thumb of ginger (40g), peeled and finely chopped

A smaller thumb ginger (20g), peeled and finely chopped or a heaped teaspoon of ground turmeric

1 red chilli, chopped

A teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper

Pour your honey into a bigger jar, you will need it to be about ½ to 2/3rd full. Put all of the chopped ingredients into a jar of honey. Stir and leave to infuse for a few hours. The honey will thin out once the flavourings are added.

Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. To prepare mix a tablespoonful with hot water and if you like a squeeze of citrus.
